1997 Palomino Morgan Stallion

Primavera Valdez X Roy El's Salina

Valverde Salado, or "Zarco" is one of the finest sons of Primavera Valdez currently standing at stud. He's conformationally very correct, athletic, versatile, and kind. Zarco was started as a western horse, but has been taking dressage lessons for the past two years. He would have made a lovely western pleasure horse, had I been inclined in that direction, but I like the mental and physical challenges that dressage provides.

Although Zarco has been bred to a very limited number of mares, he's produced several wonderful foals, and has put his stamp of beauty and trainability on all.

Zarco is available through live cover only, at a stud fee of $600. Contact us for more information and a copy of our breeding contract.

Zarco's barn name is a shortened version of Ojos Sarcos or Ojos Zarcos, Spanish terms for blue eyes. When he was born, and for many weeks afterwards, he had very blue eyes. They've long ago turned brown, but the nickname stuck.

I fell in love with his sire Primavera Valdez when I saw ads in the Morgan Horse Magazine that showed a beautiful buckskin Morgan horse being used as a reiner. His photographs showed me just the kind of horse I wanted to own and ride, with both physical talent and beauty. I was fortunate enough to win the bid on his stallion service the one year it was auctioned off through the Morgan Horse Association's fund-raising auction, and Zarco is the result of that cross.
