Sasquatch
Sasquatch was one of the first horses we ever bought together, and he is probably the most valuable field partner my husband has ever had. He's of unknown breeding, probably some kind of draft cross, and unknown age, probably well into his 20's now. He has carried Steve, his geology field gear, his hunting gear, and his camping gear, for probably thousands of miles over the years.
Sasquatch came to us from a pack string, and he is wise in the ways of being a pack horse. It's actually fun to watch him work a picket line, throwing it out in front of his nose to see how much rope he has.
He's pretty much retired now, and his main job is to put manners on the youngsters. He was never the most comfortable ride, but he has always been one of the best.
